1. Our Commitment

Faithful Tutor is built for families who trust us with their children's education. Student safety is not a feature — it is the foundation everything else is built on. Every AI interaction on this platform is designed with the safety and wellbeing of students as the primary consideration.

2. How We Respond to Student Distress

If a student expresses thoughts of self-harm, suicide, abuse, or crisis through any part of our platform, our AI responds immediately with:

  • Acknowledgment that their feelings matter
  • Crisis resources provided without delay
  • An invitation to keep talking or reach out to a trusted adult
  • No judgment, no alarm, no punishment

3. What Parents Can See

Parent visibility is a core design principle. Parents can:

  • Review their child's Wonder (I Wonder) question history
  • View tutoring session progress and topics covered
  • Control sensitive content topics per student using content toggles
  • Set daily time limits and break schedules per student
  • Restrict access to specific days of the week
  • Receive and review issue reports submitted by their child

4. Content Controls

Parents control what topics the AI can discuss with each student. All toggles default OFF — parents must explicitly enable each one. Available controls:

  • Puberty & Body Changes
  • Reproduction & Sexuality
  • Evolution & Natural Selection
  • Mature Literary Themes
  • Violent & War Content
  • End Times & Revelation Content
  • Mental Health Topics

Important

When a toggle is OFF, the AI redirects questions on that topic to parents rather than answering directly. Crisis detection remains fully active regardless of any toggle setting.

5. What Our AI Does Not Do

  • Our AI is not a licensed mental health professional
  • Our AI is not a substitute for human connection, counseling, or therapy
  • Our AI cannot contact emergency services on a student's behalf
  • Our AI cannot notify parents in real time when a student expresses distress

⚠️Note for attorney review (Jeff DenBraber — Miller Johnson): Mandatory reporter obligations under applicable state law are under legal review. This section will be updated following attorney guidance before public launch.

6. Theological Foundation & Content Safety

All AI responses are grounded in our conservative evangelical Protestant Statement of Beliefs. Inappropriate content (sexual, violent, profane) is refused across all routes. Prompt injection attacks and attempts to manipulate the AI are detected and blocked. Rate limiting and daily caps protect against automated abuse.

7. How to Report a Safety Concern

If you have a safety concern about your child's experience on Faithful Tutor, contact us immediately:

We review all safety reports within 24 hours.

Issue reports can also be submitted directly from any page within the platform using the “Report Issue” button (bottom-right corner on every page).

8. Updates to This Policy

This policy is reviewed and updated as the platform evolves. The “Last reviewed” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Significant changes will be communicated to active subscribers.
